Wyn Powers, the founder of Rosary For Life, had long felt that the Lord wanted her to be involved in an apostolate for Him, although she was unaware of the path to take. In 1989, she began ailing with a disease that eluded proper diagnosis for two years, during which time she became too ill to work and went on permanent disability. Finally, it was discovered that she has chronic fatigue syndrome. Soon after, she attended a "prayer retreat" and found that it was a Pro-Life seminar. It was there that The Lord surprised her with the inspiration to serve Him in the apostolate for the unborn, but she had no idea of how or when until she attended a Rosary Congress and heard a speaker from Poland tell of the spiritual powerhouse of praying the fifteen decades of the Rosary. Wyn knew then what the Lord wanted her to do, but went home restless and spent some sleepless nights overwhelmed by the formidable challenge such a ministry demanded, whereas she had no contacts, no funds, no marketing skills, and limited physical stamina.

But The Lord provides! Today, this apostolate, which is dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe, and uses the motto 'O Mary, be my guide' has the ecclesiastical approval of the Bishop of Brooklyn (New York) as well as the support of Edward Cardinal Egan, Archbishop of New York, and offers its prayer book, Rosary For Life, in not only the English language, but also in Spanish, Polish, French, Italian, Chinese andTagalog (Korean is in progress). The apostolate continues to grow and is entirely funded by and dependent

upon donated funds. (Wyn uses Mother Teresa's example and never solicits funds - all of the expenses are covered by donations). This is a "non-profit, tax-exempt organization" and all donations are tax-deductible. This apostolate is now active in all of the fifty states of the United States of America and, internationally, in twenty-seven countries. The ministry has a Governing Board to help organize, and Board of Directors whose members volunteer their time and talents in spreading the movement.

Pictured above is Wyn Powers (Foundress of Rosary For Life), Bishop Thomas V. Daily, retired Bishop of the Diocese of Brooklyn (who in 1992 granted ecclesiastical approval to publish the book) and the late Monsignor Brian F. Callahan, former chaplain of Rosary For Life and pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Brooklyn, who permitted us to use the Tree of Life photograph on the front cover of the book. Bishop Daily is a Rosary For Life Board Member (as is Father Benedict Groeschel of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal).
